Cortagen (Ala-Glu-Asp-Pro / AEDP) is a synthetic short-chain tetrapeptide developed from research into peptide fractions associated with brain-cortex tissue. It belongs to the group of compounds commonly described as short peptide bioregulators.
Experimental research has investigated Cortagen in relation to gene-expression regulation and cellular signalling. One microarray study examined changes in gene expression following Cortagen exposure in a mouse model, identifying alterations across a range of transcripts involved in cellular regulatory processes.
