Product Information & Science
What are peptides and how are they synthesized?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids, typically consisting of between 2 and 50 residues, linked by peptide bonds. They serve as vital tools across various scientific disciplines, including pharmaceutical research, immunology, cell biology, and drug discovery.
Our products are manufactured using Solid-Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS), the industry standard for high-purity, research-grade peptides. Amino acids are added sequentially to a growing chain anchored to a solid resin support. Once the sequence is assembled, the peptide is cleaved from the resin, purified via high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and lyophilized into a stable, freeze-dried powder.
This meticulous process ensures precise control over sequence accuracy, purity, and batch-to-batch consistency.
Do your peptides contain mannitol?
Yes, some of our peptides include mannitol as an excipient. Mannitol is an inert sugar alcohol used as a bulking agent during the lyophilization (freeze-drying) process. It serves two primary functions:
- It stabilizes the peptide matrix during freeze-drying.
- It creates a more visible, uniform, and structurally sound "cake" at the bottom of the vial.
Mannitol is chemically inert; it does not alter the purity of the peptide, nor does it interfere with standard research assays. Each product listing explicitly states whether mannitol is present. If your application requires a mannitol-free variant, please contact us to check custom availability.
Why does my vial appear nearly empty? Can it be verified by weight?
This is one of our most frequent inquiries and is entirely normal. A mass of 5mg is an exceptionally small amount of material — roughly equivalent to a few grains of fine table salt. Inside a standard 2ml or 3ml vial, this will often appear only as a thin film, a small compacted disc, or a barely visible dust coating.
Verifying peptide content by weighing the vial on a standard balance is highly unreliable because:
- Balance margins: most analytical balances have a margin of error that can equal or exceed the peptide mass at these micro-quantities.
- Component mass: the glass vial, rubber stopper, and aluminum cap dwarf the micro-mass of the peptide.
- Tare variances: raw glass vial weights vary unit to unit, even within an identical batch.
The only scientifically valid method to verify peptide content is quantitative analytical testing (such as analytical HPLC or Mass Spectrometry).
What if my reconstituted peptide looks cloudy?
Slight cloudiness after introducing a solvent can occasionally occur and does not automatically indicate a defect. Common causes include:
- Incomplete dissolution: some hydrophobic sequences dissolve slowly — gently swirl (never shake) and allow to sit at room temperature for several minutes.
- pH mismatch: some peptides have poor solubility at neutral pH; use an appropriate alternative solvent.
- Saturation: reconstituting at too high a concentration may exceed the solubility limit.
- Mannitol dispersion: mannitol dissolves rapidly but can cause transient cloudiness before clearing.
If persistent cloudiness remains after gentle mixing and a 10-minute rest at room temperature, please email us with your order details and reconstitution protocol.
Do you supply blended peptide combinations?
No. We do not manufacture or supply pre-blended peptide combinations (for example, CJC-1295 combined with Ipamorelin). All products are sold as individual, single-compound vials.
This is a strict quality-control policy. Blending two or more sequences into a single vial complicates analytical verification of the purity, identity, and mass of each component. By offering only isolated compounds, every product can be verified against its respective Certificate of Analysis. Researchers requiring multiple peptides should purchase each compound separately.
What vial sizes are available?
Peptide quantities and vial configurations vary by product and are detailed on each product page. Our standard catalogue features masses of 2mg, 5mg, 10mg and 15mg.
All products are housed in laboratory-grade borosilicate glass vials with premium rubber stoppers and crimped aluminum flip-off seals. If you require a bulk quantity or a specific mass not listed, please contact us directly.
What are the primary research applications of these peptides?
Our research-grade material is optimized for in-vitro laboratory applications, including:
- Cell biology & signaling: receptor-ligand interactions, signaling cascades, and cellular proliferation.
- Immunology: epitope mapping, antibody generation, vaccine research, and T-cell activation assays.
- Drug discovery: structural lead compounds or molecular tools in early-stage design.
- Biochemistry: binding assays, enzyme kinetics, and protease profiling.
- Analytical chemistry: calibration, mass spectrometry validation, and method development.
All products are intended strictly for in-vitro laboratory research and analytical use only. They are not approved for human or animal consumption, nor for clinical, therapeutic, diagnostic, or in-vivo applications.
Storage & Handling
What is the shelf life of lyophilized peptides?
Lyophilized peptides are highly stable under correct conditions. As a guideline:
- Refrigerated (2–8°C): typically stable up to 24 months. Sequences prone to oxidation (Methionine or Cysteine residues) may have a reduced window.
- Frozen (-20°C): extended stability, frequently exceeding 36 months.
- Reconstituted (in solution): stability drops significantly; aliquot into single-use volumes and store frozen to avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
How should peptides be handled and stored?
- Temperature: store long-term stock at -20°C; short-term working stock at 2–8°C.
- Light protection: protect from direct light; UV radiation degrades aromatic residues such as Tryptophan and Tyrosine.
- Moisture management: keep seals intact until use — lyophilized powders are hygroscopic and absorb atmospheric moisture.
- Thermal equilibration: allow chilled vials to reach room temperature in a closed container before opening to prevent condensation.
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are available upon request for our entire catalogue.
Why does my vial look different or lack a vacuum seal?
Minor cosmetic variations between lots are standard and do not affect the compound. The lyophilized cake may range from a dense disc to a looser powder, and flip-top cap colors can vary across production runs.
Not all vials are sealed under vacuum — some are backfilled with high-purity inert Nitrogen gas to displace oxygen. Both methods are equally effective at preventing oxidation. Provided the vial is stored correctly away from light, the presence or absence of a vacuum has zero impact on purity.
Do you provide bacteriostatic water?
Yes. We supply laboratory-grade Bacteriostatic Water (0.9% benzyl alcohol as a sterile preservative) as well as Acetic Acid mixing solutions pre-calibrated to optimal acidic pH ranges. Both are available as separate line items.
Bacteriostatic water is widely used for robust peptides as it inhibits microbial growth over multi-use withdrawals. Certain complex or basic peptides require an acidic environment to dissolve. Recommended solvent pairings are indicated on each product page.
Quality, Purity & Testing
Do you provide a Certificate of Analysis (CoA)?
Yes. General Certificates of Analysis are available for download directly on each product page. They confirm the molecular identity and minimum purity thresholds established by our internal analytical validation.
These public CoAs are sequence-standard profiles and are not included as physical printouts in shipments. For batch-specific confirmation in high-level studies, we encourage independent testing via an accredited laboratory. A standard CoA covers:
- Peptide identity: sequence mapping, molecular formula, and theoretical molecular weight.
- Purity profile: via analytical reverse-phase HPLC (typically ≥98% for our standard catalogue).
- Mass spectrometry: molecular weight confirmation via ESI-MS or LC-MS.
- Physical appearance: description of the lyophilized cake.
Do you supply raw third-party HPLC data sheets?
No. Our compounds are synthesized via a dedicated manufacturing facility that provides comprehensive raw HPLC and LC-MS datasets to our technical team for internal verification. These raw files are proprietary and not published externally.
Baseline purity and structural identity are formally certified on our public CoAs. For researchers whose validation models require independent verification, we support sending random samples to independent, accredited testing facilities of their choosing.
What are common impurities found in peptide synthesis?
Even advanced synthesis yields minor, traceable impurities. During SPPS these typically include:
- Deletion sequences: chains missing one or more amino acids from incomplete coupling.
- Truncated fragments: shorter sequences from premature chain termination.
- Oxidized artifacts: in sequences with Methionine or Cysteine residues.
- Deamidation products: conversion of Asparagine/Glutamine into Aspartic/Glutamic acid.
- Racemization: stereochemical inversion of an L-amino acid into a D-amino acid.
A purity rating of 98%+ indicates that less than 2% of the total peptide mass consists of these closely related synthesis variants.
What is Net Peptide Content?
Net Peptide Content (NPC) is the actual percentage weight of the target peptide within the total powder mass in the vial. Do not confuse NPC with chromatographic purity. The gross mass also includes:
- Residual moisture: typically 3–8% after standard lyophilization.
- Counter-ions: Trifluoroacetate (TFA) or Acetate salts bound during purification.
- Excipients: stabilization matrices such as mannitol.
For example, a "5mg" vial with an NPC of 75% contains 3.75mg of pure active peptide — vital for precise molar concentration calculations.
What is the difference between peptide purity and peptide yield?
- Purity: the percentage of the desired sequence relative to all peptide-related impurities, measured via HPLC — the primary benchmark of quality.
- Yield: the total absolute mass of peptide harvested from a manufacturing run.
A run may undergo aggressive purification that sacrifices yield to achieve high purity. We specify our products exclusively on high purity targets; yield is internal operational data and not relevant to analytical applications.
Do your products contain endotoxins (LPS)?
We do not conduct routine Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL) assays on standard stock items. Because our peptides are generated through chemical SPPS rather than biological expression systems (such as E. coli or yeast), they are inherently free from native biological macromolecules, including lipopolysaccharides (LPS) and bacterial endotoxins.
Researchers working with highly sensitive primary cell lines should run their own LAL screening or contact us to arrange custom, certified endotoxin-tested batches.

Delivery Disputes & Missing Parcels
What happens if a parcel goes missing in transit?
- Email us your Order Reference Number to verify the delivery window has been exceeded.
- We file a formal missing-item claim with Royal Mail.
- The carrier investigation window takes approximately 10 working days for domestic shipments.
- Upon confirmation the parcel is lost, we issue a complete reshipment or full refund based on your preference and stock.
Why must an investigation occur before a replacement or refund?
- Carrier reconciliation: Royal Mail mandates a formal investigation window before settling a loss claim.
- Active recovery: a majority of parcels flagged as missing are located and delivered during the investigation — issuing immediate duplicates would cause costly double deliveries.
- Fraud prevention: tracking GPS data and delivery scans protects inventory and distinguishes genuine errors from fraudulent claims.
Tracking says "Delivered" but I do not have the parcel. How is this resolved?
- Inspect exterior "safe places" (porches, sheds, drop-boxes, behind bins).
- Check with immediate neighbors in case the courier left it with them.
- Verify with household, lab, or facility receiving office members.
- Wait up to 24 hours — a driver may scan a parcel as delivered before physical drop-off the next morning.
Can an order be resent while a carrier investigation is ongoing?
