Product Description
Vilon (Lys-Glu / KE) is a synthetic dipeptide composed of the amino acids lysine and glutamic acid. It belongs to a class of short peptides investigated for their potential roles in cellular signalling and gene-regulation pathways.
Laboratory research has examined Vilon in relation to thymic and immune-cell activity, including effects on thymocyte proliferation and signalling pathways associated with sphingomyelin metabolism. Separate in-vitro research has also investigated its influence on interleukin-2 (IL-2) gene expression in immune cells.
More recent cell-based research has explored the KE peptide in models of cellular ageing, including its relationship with expression of SIRT1, PARP1 and PARP2, proteins involved in cellular stress responses and DNA-associated processes.
Vilon may therefore be of interest in research examining:
- Thymic and immune-cell biology
- Peptide-mediated cellular signalling
- Cytokine and IL-2 gene-expression pathways
- Cellular ageing and senescence
- SIRT1 and PARP-associated research
- Short-peptide regulation of cellular processes
Most published findings relating to Vilon come from cell culture and animal models, so these findings should not be interpreted as demonstrating equivalent effects in humans.
For laboratory and research purposes only. Not for human consumption. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
